Marc Hersch

Marc Hersch returns to campus to serve as our rabbinic intern with our KOACH community at Columbia/Barnard Hillel. Marc is a student at the Jewish Theological Seminary Rabbinical School who, at heart, is an educator passionate about helping students find meaning in their learning and community. Marc was most recently a special education teacher in Chicago, where he served as a Teach For America corps member and earned a master’s degree in teaching from the Relay Graduate School of Education. He is a graduate of the Joint Program with Columbia University and The Jewish Theological Seminary of America, where he studied history and Talmud, respectively. Marc has also served as a Hebrew instructor, rabbinic intern, and lay leader at Anshe Emet Synagogue in Chicago. In his free time, he enjoys running and biking,
