Title: Rabbinic Intern
Maya Zinkow is thrilled to be a part of the Columbia/Barnard Hillel team as a rabbinic intern! She is in her third year at the Jewish Theological Seminary, where she studies as a Wexner Graduate Fellow and is pursuing a masters in Talmud. Maya is west coast born, midwest raised, and east coast schooled. She is a proud Barnard alum, where she studied English Literature, concentrating in postmodern literature and creative writing, and is ecstatic to be returning to this campus. After completing her studies at Barnard, Maya spent two years at the Pardes Institute of Jewish Studies in Jerusalem. Maya has spent many summers as a camper, counselor, and unit head at Camp Ramah in Wisconsin, where her love of Judaism is met only by her love of Lake Buckatabon. Maya is passionate about music and communal singing, is an avid coffee drinker (let’s grab some!) and procrastibaker, and dreams of being the kind of person who could one day hike the Pacific Crest Trail.
