Rebecca Hecht

Title: Rabbinic Intern

Rebecca Hecht is excited to join the Columbia/Barnard Hillel team as a rabbinic intern! Becca is beginning her fourth year of rabbinical school at Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion, where she is a Wexner Graduate Fellow and a Tisch Fellow. Becca spent much of her childhood living in China and Vietnam but calls the Boston area home. She received a BA in French literature and Chinese history and an MA in East Asian Studies at Stanford University, where she was active in the undergraduate and graduate community at Hillel as director of Challah for Hunger and a Shabbat service leader. Before beginning rabbinical school, Becca worked as a research assistant at Stanford’s Center for International Security and Cooperation. Becca is on the leadership team for the Hebrew Union College Soup Kitchen and most recently served as the rabbinic intern at Hebrew Tabernacle in Washington Heights. She loves to bake, read, sing, and dream up travel itineraries.
