Kraft Center Rentals
The Kraft Center offers a range of flexible spaces perfect for meetings, celebrations, and special events.
While our primary mission is to support Jewish student life, we also welcome outside groups during select times of the year, especially during academic breaks.
Whether you’re hosting a board meeting, b-mitzvah, wedding, panel discussion, or reception, our building combines modern amenities with a warm and welcoming atmosphere

- 325-person lecture style
- 200-person reception
- 180-person seated meal (with round tables)
- 75-person reception
- Closes at 9:00 PM
- 140-person lecture style
- 100-person reception
- 80-person seated meal (with round tables)
- Room 4A: 20 people
- Room 4B: 15 people
- Room 4C: 30 people
- Room 6A/B: 70 lecture / 64 seated with tables
- Room 6C: 15–25 seminar style
Room Set-up and Audio/Visual
The Kraft Center has tables, chairs, podiums, and a wide range of audio-visual equipment. Our team will work with you to coordinate the setup that meets your needs.
Rental Policies & Availability
- Rentals are available when student activities are not in session, particularly during summer, winter, and spring breaks.
- Rentals must comply with Columbia University insurance and security requirements. These will be provided upon confirmation of your space reservation.
- University facilities staff and security must be present during your event.
- Costs vary based on space, timing, and needs.

Insurance Requirements
Columbia University requires that unaffiliated University entities provide evidence of Comprehensive General or Commercial General Liability Insurance and in the case that the rental entity has employees on the premises of the Kraft Center, Workers’ Compensation and Employer’s Liability Insurance. The policies are to include Columbia/Barnard Hillel and Columbia University in the City of New York as an additional insured.
University Maintenance and Security
Columbia University requires that the Kraft Center superintendent and security personnel be at the premises during the rental period. If the program is outside of typical Kraft Center hours, then the rental entity will be responsible for the cost of the building maintenance and security personnel.
