This fall break, students participated in a transformative three-day journey to our nation’s capital, exploring reproductive justice through the lens of Jewish values, advocacy, and community. The program featured deep learning with advocates and policy experts, hands-on engagement with reproductive health care providers, and advocacy training with Jews United for Justice. Participants met with staffers in the offices of Congressman Jerrold Nadler, Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, and D.C. Councilmember Brianne Nadeau to see how policy is shaped at federal and local levels. The experience culminated with thoughtful processing sessions (and dinner with Columbia/Barnard alumni!) at the historic Sixth & I Synagogue.
