The start of the academic year brought exciting energy as we welcomed Columbia and Barnard students and their families to campus. During move-in, our professionals greeted students and parents from our welcome tent on campus, offering a warm introduction to Jewish life at Columbia/Barnard.Families were also invited to The Kraft Center for lunch, where they could explore our beautiful space and connect with fellow incoming students and their families.
Once students were settled, we kicked off Welcome Weekend with a Friday brunch that brought new students and upperclassmen together to connect and celebrate the start of the year. That evening, new students gathered for a special Shabbat dinner. Throughout the weekend, students enjoyed lawn games and snacks, and explored all that Jewish life has to offer at our Hillel Activities Fair—learning about travel opportunities, fellowships, Shabbat and holiday celebrations, and more.
