This winter’s Birthright trip was an unforgettable and meaningful 10-day experience across Israel for a group of students. The trip began in the north at Kibbutz Degania, followed by exploration of the Golan Heights and visits to the waterfalls of Hamat Geder. Along the way, students shared a home-cooked meal in a Druze village.

The journey continued to Jerusalem, where students experienced the history of the Old City and the Kotel firsthand, danced and ate their way through the Machane Yehuda market, and spent a memorable Shabbat. While in Jerusalem, students volunteered with Yad Sarah, the largest volunteer-staffed organization in Israel, where they built crutches and learned about the organization’s work providing free medical equipment, rehabilitation services, and social support to those in need.

In the Negev, students slept under the stars in Bedouin tents, surrounded by camels and donkeys.

The trip concluded in Tel Aviv, where participants experienced the city’s vibrant energy. Students explored the Shuk HaCarmel market and walked along the beach.

An amazing time was had by all as students explored Israel, visited iconic sites across the country, and connected with their Jewish heritage.
