Over winter break, a group of students traveled to Rwanda for a powerful five-day experience at the Agahozo-Shalom Youth Village (ASYV). During their time at ASYV, students learned about Rwandan culture while reflecting on the country’s history.

Throughout the trip, the group engaged closely with local students through classes, clubs, and family settings, gaining meaningful insight into daily life at the village. Students also had the opportunity to visit Akagera National Park for a safari.

Due to a brief travel delay on the way to Rwanda, the group unexpectedly spent a full day exploring Istanbul. Students toured the Old City, visiting iconic sites including the Grand Bazaar, Hagia Sophia, and the Blue Mosque, turning an unplanned stop into a memorable cultural experience.
