Rokhl Kafrissen is a Yiddish cultural worker, journalist, and scholar of Jewish studies. Her current work includes research in Ashkenazi folklore and folk magic, particularly the practice of opshprekhenish, or removing the evil eye. I am planning to bring her in for a 45 minute workshop followed by a Q&A where she will talk about Jewish history and the history of folklore/folk practices in Eastern Europe.
