Kraft Center Rentals

The Kraft Center is ideally suited for a variety of corporate, non-profit and private events, such as meetings, lectures, symposia, board meetings, conferences, parties, weddings, bar/bat mitzvoth and baby namings.

Rental Space

  • Rennert Hall: 325 people lecture style, 200 people reception or 120 people with 15 round tables.
  • 5th Floor Auditorium: 140 people lecture style, 100 people reception or 80 people with 10 round tables.
  • Meeting/Class Rooms: 15 – 25 people (Bishop Library, Beit Midrash, and Rooms 400, 403 and 404).
  • Gottlieb Terrace: 75 people standing reception (weather permitting, availability to 9:00 pm).

Room Set-up and Audio/Visual

The Kraft Center has tables, chairs and podiums available along with wide array of audio-visual equipment.

Rental Policy

Whereas the primary purpose of the Kraft Center is to provide a setting for Jewish student activity, the Kraft Center – Columbia/Barnard Hillel seeks to provide a welcoming venue for corporate, non-profit and private events.  The Kraft Center is available during the academic year when student programming is not scheduled and especially available during the summer, winter and spring breaks.

Insurance Requirements

Columbia University requires that unaffiliated University entities provide evidence of Comprehensive General or Commercial General Liability Insurance and in the case that the rental entity has employees on the premises of the Kraft Center, Workers’ Compensation and Employer’s Liability Insurance. The policies are to include Columbia/Barnard Hillel and Columbia University in the City of New York as an additional insured.

University Maintenance and Security

Columbia University requires that the Kraft Center superintendent and security personnel be at the premises during the rental period.  If the program is outside of typical Kraft Center hours, then the rental entity will be responsible for the cost of the building maintenance and security personnel.

Cost of Rental Space
