Alternative Spring Break: Israel & West Bank 2020
Alternative Spring Break (ASB): Israel & West Bank will take place March 12th-22nd, 2020. A select cohort of Columbia/Barnard undergrads will spend 10 days traveling around Israel and the West Bank, hearing the stories of people and learning about the various issues, challenges, and opportunities of the region. ASB: Israel & West Bank is open to students of all backgrounds. This trip is highly subsidized and covers flights, hotels, most meals, and other program costs on the ground. The program fee is $350; money should not be a barrier to participation and further subsidies are available to make this trip possible for everyone. First year students are encouraged to apply, and preference overall will be given to students who are not graduating in May 2020.
The deadline to apply has been extended to Monday, February 3rd, however applicants will be accepted on a rolling basis and the cohort may be filled before that time, so we encourage you to apply as soon as possible. Applicants who are selected to move on to the interview round can expect to hear from a member of the Hillel professional team within 5 days of submitting their application. Applicants who are offered a spot must confirm their spot within three business days of receiving the offer by submitting the non-refundable $350 program fee. Participants are expected to attend two orientations (week of February 17th and week of March 2nd). Orientations will be a chance for the cohort to get to know one another and to find out important travel information including itinerary, flight, and hotel details.
