Wellbeing Lab: Peer Support Fellows

Wellbeing Lab is a new Columbia/Barnard Hillel initiative in partnership with the Jewish Board. Up to 10 peer support fellows will learn together in the spring semester and then execute a program or initiative in fall 2025. Peer support fellows will serve as ambassadors for wellbeing in our community and elevate our conversations around mental health and wellness. All Columbia/Barnard undergrads who will be on campus through December 2025 are eligible to apply to be a part of the inaugural cohort of Wellbeing Lab.

Components of the program:

  • 5 Friday sessions focusing on psychoeducation and the elements on wellbeing. Sessions will be lead by Leor Wasser, LMSW, from the Jewish Board. Sessions will take place 1-2:30 pm on 2/28, 3/7, 3/28, 4/4, and 4/25 (includes lunch!)
  • At least 2 individual advising conversations with Shana Zionts, Associate Director, to discuss your initiative/program idea and think together about enhancing wellbeing in our community
  • Implementing a program or initiative in fall 2025. This can be an interactive program on campus, writing an article to be published, a social media campaign, or anything else you come up with!
  • Fellows will receive a stipend of $250 after completing all components of the program in December 2025.

Reach out to Shana with any questions!

Apply by midnight on Monday, February 24. Participants will be accepted on a rolling basis.

Name(Required)
If selected to be a peer support fellow, you would need to attend all 5 spring semester sessions (dates and times above), meet with Shana, and execute a program or initiative in the fall. Can you commit to these components of the program?
