Ilana Sandberg

Title: Rabbinic Intern

Ilana Sandberg is honored to return to Columbia/Barnard Hillel serving as a Rabbinic Intern, serving Koach, the Conservative community on campus. An alumna of List College and Barnard College, Ilana is now in her fifth and final year of rabbinical school at The Jewish Theological Seminary (JTS) and is a Nachshon Graduate Fellow. Ilana has served as the rabbinic intern in a number of settings including at Brandeis Hillel, for Nativ, at Orangetown Jewish Center in Rockland County and as the Jewish Life Director for List College. Ilana has spent numerous summers at Camp Ramah both at Ramah Nyack and Ramah in Northern California since it was founded in 2016. Ilana is deeply passionate about experiential education and young adult engagement and is thrilled to be returning to Hillel work after a few years away. In addition to learning texts, she pursues learning in all forms including through pottery classes, climate justice work, new recipes, and as an avid reader. She can’t wait to meet you!
